About the Bible Study
Welcome! I am excited to welcome you on this journey through the Bible in 2019. You, like me, may have read through the Bible in the past, but this will be different. This time we will read the Bible from the perspective of a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Our reading plan is chronological – ordering the Biblical text in the order that it occurred in history. It will be attached to the first post each week. It is crafted from others before it such as the “Through the Bible every day in one year by Selwyn Hughes and Trevor Partridge”, and the “The One year chronological bible” published by Tyndale.
Before each book begins, I’ll introduce it so we understand its context and significance. At least once a week I’ll provide a disciples’ commentary. The teacher Jesus left us in His place is the Holy Spirit of God. My commentary is not meant to be a substitute for His teaching. I will avoid having an opinion of my own, but rather to point out God’s.
I welcome your comments and questions and hope to inspire many discussions so that we allow the Word of God to impact us where we live and transform us as we renew our minds.
I encourage you to be a doer of God’s word. A crucial part of a disciple’s training is his relationship with the Word of God. So every time we open the Word, let us approach it prayerfully and with expectation and reverence considering that God Himself is speaking to us. Pray for me and I am praying for you, that God would open your eyes and give you revelation and transform you.
